Set a household iron to a medium-high or cotton setting and turn off the steam. Position the embroidered patch adhesive-side down, cover it with a thin cloth or tea towel, and press firmly for 30–45 seconds without sliding the iron. Check the edges and leave the patch to cool completely before moving or wearing the item.

2. Which fabrics are suitable for an iron-on patch?

Iron-on patches work best on heat-resistant fabrics such as cotton, denim and canvas. Avoid applying heat directly to nylon, leather, waterproof fabrics or very stretchy materials, as these may not bond properly and could be damaged by the iron. Sewing is the safer option for heat-sensitive materials.



3. What is the difference between an iron-on patch and a sew-on patch?

An iron-on patch uses a heat-activated adhesive backing, allowing it to bond to suitable fabric without sewing. A sew-on patch is fixed with thread and is generally preferable for heat-sensitive materials or items exposed to frequent movement and washing.
